Scott is a Charleston native who has lived, worked and studied in a number of cities on the east coast. He has traveled extensively in Europe and South America. He returned to the Low Country in 1999.
Scott received both his Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Arts in Design from Clemson University. He divided graduate studies between University of Pennsylvania and Clemson University’s Charles E. Daniel Center for Urban Studies in Genoa, Italy. Further education came through extended programs at European universities in St. Petersburg, Russia and Prague, Czech Republic.
Scott was asked, in 1995, to join award winning production designer Charles Bennett on the CBS Films production “Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All”. He researched period art, furniture and architecture as a basis for his design concepts. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded the resultant sets an Emmy for Art Production and Set Design.
Scott has fifteen years experience in professional practice and is a Registered Architect in the state of South Carolina. His work has focused on commercial, residential and resort markets. Prior to founding Red Charrette: Architects, Inc., Scott spent over five years working for the high-end residential design firm Christopher Rose Architects, PA located on Johns Island, South Carolina. The Home Builders Association recognized one of his projects, a single-family residence at 343 Surfsong Road, Kiawah Island, which was completed while at Christopher Rose Architects, with both local and national awards.
